Here's 15-or-so images of Rhonda and Michael Toppel and their family from the now almost long-ago past. (What do you think he meant by that? Well, we're not really sure . . . )
They granted extraordinary photographic access to a budding (still), young 30's when we first met, writer and photographer.
Rhonda was a working model, always on the lookout for a better head shot, and everyone else were a bit of a ham, too. (And when you're that good looking, it doesn't matter where you're from).
I wrote poems "Reesa's Tome," and "What Flagler Got," for their very successful daughters, Reesa and Sierra, on the occasions of their High School Graduations
Over the years when Chris was in-between his many tech contracts, he functioned as a reliable baby-sitter, occasionally shopped for groceries, and once spent 2-weeks tar-papering and shingling the roof of a fixer-upper they bought down the street as an investment, too--
Chris is currenty rewriting "Right Action," a screenplay writ by him and Rhonda, although he may have to fly to Japan to finish it (and conspire again with Rhonda for her approval of the rewrite, too). It's a bit like "Black Rain," but I think we were first with the idea, and a published-on-the-web screenplay, too, although we've removed it for the rewrite.
And the climax to "Black Rain" was filmed in Napa, just a few miles away--
"Kids, Kats and Dogs," another screenplay writ by Rhonda and me is in the "Screenplay" section.
Playboy Zed Card Fair Use; If you want yours back, Rhonda, give me a call.
Here's a few images, including one of my girl friend at the time, Joy, when we spent a wonderful week camping with the Toppel Family.
Best of Everything, Ladies, Gents, Kids and Grandkids (!), from Uncle Chris.
